job submission

- Password encryption, exposing only the scrambled password string

request by only the Crystal Enterprise report owner
How It Works
The Tidal Solution Connector for Crystal Enterprise provides true API level
integration to Crystal report sequences. All the integration points are JAVA
based to provide platform independence of the Solution Connector; this
allows support for all Crystal Enterprise environments. The Tidal Solution
Connector can be installed on any machine where a Tidal Enterprise Agent
resides. This machine must be able to ping the Crystal Enterprise server.
The Tidal Solution Connector for Crystal Enterprise defines, launches and
monitors Crystal Enterprise report job requests on a Crystal Enterprise
server. The security policies, report and environment information defined in
Crystal Enterprise is used to identify the specifics about each report run
request initiated from Tidal Enterprise Scheduler. Upon submission of each
report run request, Tidal Enterprise Scheduler monitors the execution of
each request and maintains connectivity to Crystal Enterprise to
continuously update users.
Unlike the native scheduler within Crystal which reports only ended
status, the solution connector enables Crystal Enterprise users to manage
report run requests from the Tidal Enterprise Scheduler in real-time so that
interaction can occur if a problem arises.
Because it is not unusual for Crystal report to pull voluminous data and
run for hours, this interactive, real-time capability is a powerful benefit.
With the solution connector, Crystal jobs that are running abnormally long
or halted can be corrected before productive hours are lost.
